Our Frankincense Shea Butter Tallow Cream combines a tallow and shea butter base with natural beeswax, making it slightly firmer and more structured than our whipped balms. The beeswax creates a light occlusive layer that locks in moisture on contact with skin, making this format ideal for targeted use on very dry patches, rough elbows and heels, or any area that needs concentrated, stay-put hydration.

Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carterii) has been used in skincare for over 4,000 years. Its primary active compounds, boswellic acids and alpha-pinene, have been associated with anti-inflammatory effects, support for even skin tone, and reduced appearance of scarring and fine lines. The cream format with beeswax makes it especially effective for targeted application on dry, damaged, or aging skin. The four-ingredient formula (five with the essential oil) delivers vitamins A, D, E, and K alongside the essential fatty acids in tallow and shea butter. Handcrafted in small batches in Springtown, Texas.

Beef tallow's fatty acid profile closely matches human skin's natural sebum. It absorbs without clogging pores and delivers fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K that water-based creams cannot provide. Adding beeswax gives this cream a slightly firmer consistency than our whipped balms, creating a light occlusive layer that slows moisture loss and makes it ideal for targeted use on very dry, rough, or problem areas.

I love the smoothness of the tallow cream but the Frankincense oil causes a slight burning sensation once I put it on. I ordered unscented Tallow cream to mix in it so cut the concentration of frankincense oil and so far that has been the perfect fix.

I was disappointed that it wasn't a lotion like the others I tried. The word "cream" was a bit confusing. I don't like the greasy feeling that the "cream" leaves on my skin vs. the "lotion". So, I really haven't used it like I wanted to. 😞
I tried 3 brands of tallow and my favorite is Texas Tallow whipped with frankincense. Next I will order some manganese cream to possibly help with joint pain.
I love the smell. I have to put it in my hands first to rub the gritty feeling out but it feels wonderful on my face and hands!
