How our reviews work

  • Are these reviews from real customers?

    Yes. Judge.me emails each customer after their order is delivered and asks for a review. Reviews that come from that email are marked “Verified” and tied to a real order. Fewer than 1 in 100 of our reviews are unverified.

  • Do you publish negative reviews?

    We do. One-, two-, and three-star reviews stay published next to the five-star ones. We read every one, and when a review flags a problem, such as a jar arriving soft in summer heat or a scent being lighter than expected, we reply and make it right.

  • My order arrived melted or leaking. Is it ruined, and what do you do about it?

    It is not ruined. Tallow and shea butter melt in a hot delivery truck and set back up in the refrigerator in about an hour. Whipped balm loses the air that was whipped in, so the jar can look half full after it cools, but the weight of product inside is the same. If you would rather not deal with it, email support@texastallowproducts.com and we replace the order, no questions asked. Several of the lower-star reviews on this page are from summer shipments that arrived melted, and that replacement policy applies to every one of them.   • Why do some reviews mention that the scent is light?

    Our scented products use essential oils rather than synthetic fragrance, so the scent is subtle by design and fades after application. If you want a stronger scent, peppermint, orange, and frankincense read strongest according to reviewers. If you want none at all, our lotions, whipped balm, cream, and lip balm all come in Natural Unscented.

  • Can I read reviews for a specific product?
