Our Tallow Lip Balm Unscented 4-Pack is made with five ingredients — beef tallow, shea butter, organic coconut oil, natural beeswax, and vitamin E oil — none of which are petroleum-derived. Most conventional lip balms use petrolatum or mineral oil as their base. These ingredients form an occlusive barrier but don't actually penetrate or nourish the lip tissue. Tallow does both.
Beef tallow's fatty acid compatibility with skin means it absorbs into the lips rather than just coating them. Shea butter and vitamin E add additional nourishment. Why Tallow Lip Balm
